Hey Lucy! You've got some 'splainin' to do. Especially since the feisty redhead and her Cuban-bandleader husband thoroughly dominated this decade. The wacky hijinx of Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel made I Love Lucy the number one show for 4 of its 6 seasons.
We could wax nostalgic about chocolate production line mishaps, or failed attempt after failed attempt to get onstage at Club Babalu or about how we'd love to be the Vitameatavegamin spokesperson… but my favorite part is that thanks to I Love Lucy and the woman who played her, network brass were forced to accept that it IS okay to show a pregnant lady on the air. Even if you can't use the word pregnant. She was "spectin'."
