The Beverly Hillbilies
Come and listen to a story 'bout a man named Jed.  I guess I could just sing the theme song and tell you enough about this one...but that's no fun.  So, here goes.  The Hillbilies graced our presence from September 26th 1962 to September 7th 1971. This show had critics scratching their head.  It did not get a great response from the Hollywood critics in the beginning but the public quickly told them they were wrong.  The Beverly Hillbilies was the story of Jed and Granny Clampett who struck gold in the form of an oil well while Jed was out hunting.  The family decided to move to the swanky Beverly Hills with their millions of dollars and hang out with the elite.  Not understanding anything about the modern world they were a mystery to the wealthy folks around Beverly Hills but were music to the ears of one greedy banker, Milton Drysdale, who would do ANYTHING to keep their business.  Now throw in a beautiful Ellie Mae and dumb-as-a-box-of-rocks Jethro and you have the makings of a hit show.  So, take your shoes off, set a spell.  ya'll come back now, hear.
