Dragnet
Long before there was the Ching! Ching! of the contemporary Law and Order there was…
Duh Duh Duh Duh. Duh Duh Duh DAAAA!

The dramatic opening credits set the stage for one of the most influential police procedural dramas in television history. The efforts of Sgt. Joe Friday and his partners introduced audiences to the danger and heroism, as well as the mundane tasks of police work. The series is credited with improving public opinion of police officers.

The show started on the radio, and then moved to television, running from 1951-1959. Producer and star Jack Webb always strove for realism, even to the point of borrowing actual police badges from the LAPD.
